Watermelon and Malibu Blue at the Atrium

As September starts, there is an unofficial sense that “summer is over”. Pumpkin flavors start arriving, and the leaves start turning. Well it’s a good thing that this summery wedding took place on August 31st, just before “autumn” began!

Our bride chose The Atrium at Western Gardens for her reception. The Atrium is unique and very beautiful. It is unique because the reception area is attached to a nursery and garden store. The reception part is closed off from the store and yet still gets all the benefits of beautiful fresh plants adorning the room.

Just past the nursery, The Atrium has a beautiful water feature. Our bride and groom had their ceremony with the waterfall as the backdrop. It was so perfect and so romantic.

On the inside, the tables were covered with bright tablecloths of malibu blue, watermelon, and coral with tall flower arrangements in the center. The thing I like most about the tables is that there was a mix of shorter round ones, and taller cocktail table size. It gave the guests an option. Besides the tables, there were benches and other chairs placed around the room for additional seating

For the buffet table, we accented with deep watermelon-pink flowers and blue accents. We had tall candelabras and other smaller candles spread across the buffet to add a wonderful quality of light to the buffet.

For the cocktail hour after the reception we served Turkey and Bacon Sliders, Mini Potato Bites, and a Fresh Green Salad. For the reception, we served Strawberry-watermelon Sorbet in a tall dessert glass and Mini Chocolate Cups with your choice of chocolate, cookies ‘n’ cream, strawberry or key lime mousse.

This was our first time catering at The Atrium and we loved it! Not only was the setting beautiful (it smelled good, too!) but the staff were very helpful.

Congratulations to the bride and groom, and best wishes!
